Richard Wagner

May 22, 1813 - February 13, 1883
Richard Wagner was a German composer and a larger-than-life figure of the late Romantic era. He is best known for his lavish operatic works which have become part of the standard repertory.

The 19th century virtuoso, Franz Liszt, created many paraphrases of these operatic works.
