A legendary figure of the late Romantic era, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer who achieved lasting international fame. Although music critics have not universally held him in as high esteem, Tchaikovsky has won the hearts of many generations of music lovers.

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet has been transcribed for piano by Mikhail Pletnev and his Lullaby has been transcribed by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff.
