Ferruccio Dante Michelangelo Benvenuto Busoni

April 1, 1866 - July 27, 1924
One of the great musical intellects of the early 20th century, Ferruccio Busoni was born in Italy and spent his adult life in a number of European countries. His works combined the contrapuntal sophistication of the Baroque era and the virtuosity of the Romantic period with his thirst for new forms of musical expression.
