It can be a time-consuming, expensive, and logistic challenge to audition at multiple schools on the specific audition dates that are offered. The Disklavier Education Network Auditions provide you with a way to audition as though you were playing in person at each school.
The basic idea is this: You go to one audition location, record your audition program, and multiple schools can see and hear your performance when their audition committee is assembled. Each school that receives your performance will hear you play on their Disklavier PRO piano as though you were performing live.
The Disklavier PRO piano is a concert-quality, acoustic piano with a sophisticated record-and-playback mechanism. When you make your recording, each key, hammer, and pedal movement is recorded and stored in the cloud. A coordinated video recording is also created and stored in the cloud. Participating schools access this material at a time that is convenient to them, and watch and hear you perform as though you are in the same room. Each key, hammer, and pedal movement is faithfully reproduced.
To take advantage of this opportunity:
Follow the links below to the institutions of your choice. Be sure to follow the application procedures of each school to which you intend to apply. Merely signing up for and recording an audition is not sufficient. Each school has a detailed application process that you must follow.
During the recording session, if you would like to use your own camera simultaneously to make a traditional audio/video recording, you may do so.
